Holiday

Once we got animals and planted a garden, we knew it would be near impossible to go on holiday. Someone has to feed the dog, the chickens, and water the plants. It's even hard to be away for a full day.

But when we moved from Florida we promised Baby that she could return to the Christian summer camp she has gone to for several years. So Daughters and I went there while Guv'nor and Son stayed home to look after things on the property. Two weeks seemed like a long time to be away, but once we were in Florida the time went by very quickly.

We drove over 3300 miles in two weeks, stayed with family and friends, visited with more friends, ate at all our favorite places, did some shopping and found a few new favorites.

This is how we pack.

We stopped at Cracker Barrel for breakfast.

We crossed this bridge over the Mississippi River.

We went in this tunnel at Mobile.

Our first stop was the beach. The water was like a warm bath.

Taco Son has some of the best Mexican food in Tampa.

Publix has our favorite chocolate ice cream.

We still call this place Mariposa - another favorite of ours.

A new ecletic place in downtown Tampa.

My niece's neat little origami birds made from pages of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.

My sister made us waffles and chicken fingers for supper one night.

We drove through a storm going home.

We drove across another bridge over the Mississippi River on the way home.
