Our windows on the house are double paned and slightly tinted green. Not sure what you call them because they were already here when we bought the house. The birds don't realize it's a reflection and fly right into them. I guess they break their necks.
We have those occasionally. This spring there was this one baby robin who would fly into the door with a loud thud over and over and over. Some days it was 40 or 50 times. I finally taped some papers to the outside of the door to try to let her know there was something there. Experience was apparently not a very good teacher. She still would fly into the spaces sometimes, but finally stopped. I guess there is something to the term birdbrain.
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing even a smaller brain than a chicken brain.
DeleteThis is a male eastern bluebird. We see them flying all over our property, but have never had one fly into the window. Usually see them sitting on the barbed wire fences. They are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThanks LaWanda. The coloring was so vivid. It was sad to see.
